"SILENT NITE"

Are you one of the 90 million North Americans who snore while sleeping?

If so, Silent Nite® may be the solution. Silent Nite® is a thin, custom-made anti-snoring and sleep apnea device that is proven to eliminate snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in 80% of individuals for whom it is prescribed.

how does Silent Nite® work?

sn1During sleep, the muscles and soft tissues in the throat and mouth relax making the breathing airway smaller. This decrease in the airway space increases the velocity of air flowing through the airway during breathing. As the velocity of required air is increased in the constricted space, soft tissues, like the soft palate and the uvula, vibrate. The vibrations of these soft tissues in the mouth and throat result in what is called “noisy breathing” or generally referred to as snoring.

At certain levels of severity, complete blockage of the airway space by the soft tissues and the tongue can occur. If the period of asphyxiation lasts longer than 10 seconds, this is called Obstructive Sleep Apnea

sn2Snoring research has also shown that custom-made dental devices worn at night that move the lower jaw into a forward position, increase the three dimensional space in the airway tube which reduces air velocity and soft tissue vibration. By increasing the capacity of the airway and preventing soft tissue vibrations, snoring is eliminated.

sn-applianceThe Silent Nite® device brings you lower jaw forward by means of special connectors that are attached to transparent flexible upper & lower forms. The forms are custom-made from impressions of your teeth, making the appliance fit your mouth perfectly.

why is Silent Nite® better?

In the past, treatment options for snoring included surgery, breathing masks and oral devices. Surgery is expensive, risky, and seldom stops snoring (20-40% success). Treatments like breathing masks, although more effective, require expensive equipment and frequent adjustments in the lab.

Silent Nite®, however, is safer, less expensive, and works better than either surgery or masks and does not require additional parts or routine adjustment.
